Why we became search and social first
I know what you must be thinking… what does search and social first even mean?
Let’s do a quick backstory first. When I launched Infinity Digital back in February 2021, I wanted to create the ultimate one-stop-shop solution for all things digital marketing.
I had all the best intentions to deliver on this but there was something I had noticed as we grew throughout the year, but more recently, when Pippa and Sam joined the team earlier on in the year.
A lot of our fabulous clients were demanding (in a good way ;)) our help for SEO, Paid Media and Social Media so we couldn’t ignore the fact that these three core services were the ones that have massively contributed to our growth to date.
Simply put, search and social first means that we position our business as a digital marketing agency with a specialist twist in search engine marketing and social media marketing.
What does search cover?
Breaking this down a bit more, you’ll soon realise as you read on that there is a lot that comes with specialising in these areas.
Starting with search, this branches out into two key areas; SEO (search engine optimisation) and PPC (pay-per-click) advertising. Both of which heavily involve major search engines such as Google.
What tends to come with this is more than just making your website or app rank on Google. SEO, in its own right, is an extension to so many different disciplines from developer to copywriter to publicist (yes, publicist!)
The bulk of our existing client base are using forms of PPC on platforms such as Google Ads, but as a Google Partner, we offer the full whack service with landing page design and development, asset creation (images, graphics, videos etc.) as well as the standardised management service for PPC.
What does social cover?
This is where social media as a service can really expand and it’s an area we’re looking to work on for the next few months.
Starting with management, not only do we help with posting and content, but we have also developed a community management section to our offering.
This means that we spend time with you at the start of your journey to work out who are the target accounts you’d like your brand to follow and interact with on social media. We then spend time a few times per week following, liking, sharing, and commenting to start building a rapport with these target accounts.
The next element is content, which is where we’re working to develop, so it’s something we’re continually fine tuning to get it right for our awesome clients.
Since the first ‘content day’ with PJ Nicholls a couple of months ago, we’ve found that we can be more productive and creative if we spend time with a client at their offices/sites to generate a bank of content for the next X many weeks/months.
Not only does this allow us to be productive, but we are also able to repurpose these pieces of client content in other forms of digital marketing such as, on their website for SEO purposes or in their paid media campaigns.
The final part of social media is advertising campaigns. We find that PPC (aka Paid Media) is split across search engines and social media, so the methodology behind them remains the same but the setup and strategy we take for each client may differ slightly.
For instance, Google Ads uses keywords (quite famously) for targeting ads across their search engine and a platform such as Facebook or TikTok uses audience segmenting (sounds fancy doesn’t it ;)).
Audience segmenting allows us to input user data from location to interests and particular buying behaviour and target them with helpful content across those platforms.
The funny thing is, Google Ads are also starting to use more audience-based bidding options for advertising like social media, so the association between the two may unite into something more related in time.
What about email, web & print?
To those who are still with me (firstly, thank you!!), I appreciate this is a lot!
In short, we still offer email, web design and print to those that ask us directly. Although we may not market them heavily right now or in the future, there is still capacity in our growing team to take on these projects.
In fact, email in particular, ties in really nicely with social media campaigns!
Is Infinity Digital really changing for the better?
Ending this on a high, we are extremely grateful to all of those that have supported us since we launched last year. We are still the same ol’ Infinity Digital you’ve come to know and love but going forward we’re thinking about who we’re looking to work with next and how we can lead with the two core areas of digital that have brought us so much growth.
